The TV Preview: Week 3 Part 1

What's on TV and what to watch on your cut price League Pass from India

This week's Foxtel Games

New York (2-4) @ Atlanta (4-3), 12 midday, Thursday 14th November, ESPN
It's fair to say that the Knicks 2013-14 start hasn't quite reached the level of last season's, when they won their first 7 games and MSG chanted for Rasheed Wallace during a blow out of the defending champs. What the two campaigns do have in common already is a potential derailment caused by the loss of Tyson Chandler. The former Defensive Player of the Year is missing for at least a month, and although the 2012-13 Knicks posted a 12-4 record in his absence, the 2013-14 version doesn't look quite as well equipped. Former Trailblazer greats, Baseline Leaner Hall of Famers and Chandler-hole-pluggers Kurt Thomas, Marcus Camby and Rasheed Wallace are nowhere to be seen. Not surprisingly, the Knicks are considering contingency plans.

For the Hawks, new coach (and ex-Spurs assistant) Mike Budenholzer has them humming and scoring 105 a night, but their 4-3 record requires a caveat: the 4 wins have come against Toronto, Sacramento, Orlando and Charlotte. Al Horford has been quietly excellent, as per usual, to the point that the practice of being quietly excellent should be referred to as "Al Horfording." Jeff Teague is 2nd in the league in assists and may put himself in the race for an All-Star spot if he rediscovers his 3 point jumper.

In Part 2, we'll look at the other ESPN game this week (Minnesota (5-3) @ Denver (2-4), 12 midday, Saturday 16th November, ESPN), dole out some under/overachievement awards and nominate the League Pass Game(s) of the Week, too
